The Lowcountry is more than just a geographic region that includes cities like Charleston, Beaufort, and Savannah. It's an embodiment of Southern culture and charm, with a distinct cuisine, rich history, and unique waterfront landscapes.

It represents an attitude of hospitality that is quintessentially Southern, welcoming visitors with open arms and inviting them to experience its one-of-a-kind blend of sights, sounds, and flavors.

Here at Lowcountry Wedding Films, we look to blend that laid-back attitude, hospitable approach, and Southern sophistication to create elegant wedding films.

If you're planning a destination wedding, you may wonder what Lowcountry actually means.

Having filmed more than 700 weddings in the Carolinas, I know and get along with nearly every local photographer.  And if, by chance, I don't know yours - I'll reach out to them before your wedding day to learn more about their process and ensure we work together seamlessly.

Maybe it's the survivalist in me, but there's no peace of mind as sweet as the security of a well-prepared team.

I've trained for over a decade in wilderness survival, honing my ability to adapt and make quick decisions in any situation. As a result, I can handle the unique challenges of a wedding day, from an unexpected timeline delay to unruly weather. And all with a positive mindset.

When combined with my extensive experience as a filmmaker,  even if your venue is new to me, I am able to walk into the space and assess any lighting and location needs within minutes.

So, you can rest assured your wedding film will highlight the best of your day, no matter how the event unfolds.

Crafting an emotional film of your big day requires more than just luck. The best wedding films call for a videographer with a deep understanding of how light,  motion, and sound work together to tell your story. But technical expertise alone isn't enough. You need someone you connect with to help you feel comfortable  in front of the cameras.

As your wedding videographer, I prioritize your experience. So, you can trust me to be a laid-back, confident, and unobtrusive presence throughout your wedding day. And someone  who works collaboratively with your vendor team to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

“Shawn had ... worked with my photographer on other weddings before, and they both worked well together... On your wedding day, both your photographer and videographer ultimately need to be able to work as a team to make sure they BOTH get what they need, and one doesn't overpower another.”

Let's Talk

Now, with more than a decade in the industry, artistically filming weddings is like muscle memory - I don't have butterflies about whether I'll get the right shot for you. I'm confident, and my clients and their vendor teams know it. That peace of mind is priceless for everyone involved!

Ready to see if we're a good fit?

There's no substitute for experience!

Before beginning my 15+ year career in filmmaking, I served in the US Military, private security sector, and hospitality industry. My experiences in these fields were crucial in shaping the way I approach my work. I run my video crew like a cohesive unit, focusing on efficiency, precision, and adaptability. And I ensure that my team knows how to walk into any event, assess the significance of the moment, and know exactly what needs to be done to capture the perfect shot.

My journey to becoming a videographer began when my parents were missionaries in Romania. Filming the rich lives and experiences of the Roma people, I fell in love with the way light, sound, and motion come together to tell a moving story. My passion for filmmaking grew over the years, blooming as I pursued film and media studies at Trident College in Charleston, SC and ultimately becoming my lifelong career.
